Paulina Gaitán Ruiz is a Mexican actress and singer, born in Mexico City, on July 23, 1992. At the age of 7 she was offered to be an extra in a Televisa soap opera, and although at first her mother did not believe she was a good idea, Paulina’s grandmother interceded for her. When Paulina managed to get an extra role, she knew there was no turning back.
After her training at the Televisa acting school, Paulina debuted, at just 11 years old, in the film Voces Innocentes (2004), which was followed by appearances in events such as Morirse en Domingo (2006), The Price of Innocence (2007), When Things Happen (2007), Insignificant Things (2008) and, especially, Sin nombre (2009), in the role of Sayra. After appearing in the successful Mexican film Somos lo que hay (2010), Paulina joined the cast of the series Las Aparicio (2010), in the role of Ileana Delacroix, over 118 episodes.
Paulina is one of the most active Mexican actresses today but she has always been very selective with her roles, she assures that she is very aware of what she wants to tell and the characters she wants to play: strong women on screen big. Gaitán has participated in television series with international distribution such as Capadocia (2010), The River (2012), Sr. Ávila (2013), Señorita Pólvora (2015), Narcos (2015) and Diablo Guardián (2018), in the latter he played Violeta, a woman who, she claims, had a lot in common with her: courage and bravery.
Her choice for her role was curious; the producer of the series, after meeting her, told the casting director that he had found the perfect person in her to play Violeta. Shortly after, Paulina showed that she was the right person to bring the popular character from Mexican literature to the small screen. The series was a personal and physical challenge; the actress had to lose 15 kilos and maintain a strict eating regimen.
In 2020 she starred in The President , an Amazon Prime Video original series that portrayed the famous FIFA Gate corruption case. Of this latest production, Paulina, shared with Sensacine México that she was one of the last actresses to join the cast. Likewise, she assures that her partnership with actor Andrés Parra has been one of the best in her career so far.
In film she also has a career full of successes, including Eddie Reynolds and Los Ángeles de Acero (2014), Crossing Point(2016), Ruta Madre (2016) and Las Niñas Bien (2018), where he shared credits with actress Ilse Salas. His future projects include participation in a video game that is a family project.
