Now looking at the personal aspects of Cadwallader’s life, he met Nabors in 1975 when he was working in Honolulu. The two soon became close friends and began dating. Reports suggest that Stan and Jim took it easy, but this stable relationship lasted for another 38 years.

Despite having been together for several years, Stan and Jim could not get married because gay marriage was illegal in those days. However, in 2012, things got better. Same-sex marriage was legalized in Washington and they were allowed to marry. The two said their vows on January 13, 2013. Stan was 64 years old, while his partner Nabors was 84 years old. We know that it was a private ceremony at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in the presence of some close friends and family. Sadly, on November 30, 2017, Jim passed away at his home in Hawaii due to his age.
