She has an older brother, Jonathan T. Colby, who is an attorney and is a judge in Dade County Circuit Court in Miami, Florida.
Jamie Colby was just 12 years old when her parents’ marriage ended in divorce. After that, she and her brother moved to Miami with their mother, where they raised her. Jamie’s flair for working hard and being productive was evident from an early age. As a child, she appeared in commercials for KC & The Sunshine Band and also got a job at Burger King.
Because of her outstanding intelligence, Jamie Colby, at the age of 14, earned a place at the University of Miami International School of Business, where she received her degree in accounting. During her career, she attended the University of Miami Law School, graduating in 1993 at the age of 22 with a Juris Doctorate.
