BIOGRAPHY
After Cours Florent, Samuel Jouy found his first role in the drama From Blue to America , that of a young person in a wheelchair who gradually regains a taste for life in a rehabilitation center. He continued with 1999’s Madeleine and Nonna, the Virgin and Me , then played the caring brother of a rape victim in Vivante directed by Sandrine Ray . On the series side, we see him in Le Cri , Le Réveillon des bonnes , Mystère , Chez Maupassant and even L’Ecole du politique .
In 2008, Samuel Jouy played in Bébé à bord and Shanghai blues, nouveau monde . Three years later, he was chosen to slip into the shoes of José Del Sarte José, a seminarian in a wheelchair in the religious series So be they . In 2015, the actor played a skinhead in Un Français , a sort of French-style American History X led by the very fashionable Alban Lenoir . He also takes part in lighter registers like Fais pas ci, fait pas ça .
In 2017, Samuel Jouy directed his first feature film, Sparring , which sees Mathieu Kassovitz play an aging boxer who, to provide for his family, becomes the sparring partner of a great champion. The film shines with its realism and the actor’s anthological performance. The native of Bernay then appeared in the police series Zone blanche , Maroni and Ils sont 10 . He also plays a seasoned robber with Sami Bouajila in Braqueurs .
At the same time, Samuel Jouy did not forget the cinema and took part in the action film Burn Out , the comedies Rebelles and The Lion , as well as the fantasy thriller Ogre . In the latter, he plays a doctor as charismatic as he is mysterious, alongside Ana Girardot .
